In celebration of their 30th Anniversary, the Raksha team is taking over the Avondale Arts Center for a weekend-long exhibition of works centered around the theme of “Leap of Faith.” Raksha is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the South Asian American community through confidential support, education, and advocacy.
“The Raksha Art Show is a platform to raise awareness for gender-based violence by creating space for diverse voices and unique perspectives, while building community connections and promoting a culture of healing and empowerment,” reads the Raksha website.
“Featuring a dynamic collection of sculptures, installations, and mixed-media works, the exhibit examines how stepping into the unknown—whether through trust, belief, or pure instinct—can lead to profound change. We delve into the moment where hesitation gives way to action and uncertainty transforms into courage or brave steps – fuelled by trust in oneself, in one’s community or the universe.“
